John Bodkin Adams (1899-1983) was responsible for a total of 160 deaths over only one decade. All his victims died in skeptical circumstances and nearly all of them left him cash or other pricey stuff in a written will.

The British doctor was specialized in anesthetics, but he soon acquired a bad reputation due to his numerous unforgivable mistakes, such as counting money, eating cake, and falling asleep during operations.

Adams didn’t excel at being a medical doctor, yet, he managed to become England’s richest doctor, thanks to the money his dying patients left him. Although he was brought to court many times, there has always been a lack of evidence, thus the doctor got away with his crimes.

Dr. Henry Howard Holmes was among the first serial killers ever recorded in America. He actually went as far as establishing a hotel with assassination in mind. The terrifying hotel included secret chutes, bedrooms fitted with gas lines, acid pits, and other creepy stuff to torture “patients.”

Most of Holmes’ victims were females, including hotels guests and employees. Once Holmes is done torturing his victim to death, he drops the body to the basement where he strips them of flesh and crafts them into skeletons.

The police could count 27 victims, commenting that other bodies were so horribly decomposed that it was hard to guess the exact number. It is suggested that Holmes killed more than 200 people.

The British doctor/serial killer, Harold Shipman, claimed more than 250 lives. A few years after founding his own clinic, Shipman received complaints about the elevated death rate among his patients.

Dr. Shipman was actually providing his patients with fatal overdoses of diamorphine, and then he forged their medical records to prove they had been very ill. In 2004, Shipman committed suicide in his prison cell, remarkably shortening his jail time.
