Besides poison, there are other deadly foods in your kitchen that you probably never thought was possible. Sure, we enjoy testing our limits by jumping off airplanes and call it skydiving, play around at the edge of death only to feel the adrenaline kicking in, and eating fast food, although we are aware it’s damaging our insides organ by organ!
However, we still don’t want to risk our lives by consuming foods that can actually send us to the ER when we least expect it. But we get it, if we are going to die, unless it has to be in a fun or exciting way and not when eating a deadly food that we didn’t even know was dangerous, right?
Well, here is a list of all the deadly food that you don’t want to eat, ever!
1. Fruit seeds
When you eat a tasty, delicious fruit, do you throw away the seed? Plant it?
Whatever you do with those seeds, just do not eat them because they contain a type of hydrogen cyanide that scientists call prussic acid, which is a rapidly acting poison that goes into the bloodstream to transport through the body. Eventually, you will die from asphyxia. So stay clear from ground pits, peach, apricot, cherry, and apple pits.
2. Rhubarb
Sure, rhubarb is delicious, but you shouldn’t be consuming too much of it at all because it contains oxalate. The latter can lead to illness or death when large portions are consumed. Luckily, the majority of this compound is in its leaves, so just trim them off, and you’ll be fine. In order for it to be considered deadly, you need to take 11 pounds of the leaves, but a small amount will cause you kidney stones!
3. Potatoes
Are potatoes dangerous? It’s hard to consider those great vegetables as a deadly food, right? But if you bought potatoes but forgot to cook them, for weeks or months, then it’s best to throw them away.
The sprouts, stems, and leaves of the potatoes grow Glycoalkaloids, leading to diarrhea, cramping, headaches, coma, or death. Consuming 3 to 6 mg per your body weight’s kg might be fatal for you. Potatoes are awesome, but avoid the old ones!
