How to Avoid High Cholesterol Easily

Last Updated on January 7, 2021

Cholesterol is not really the villain most people think it is. In fact, a certain amount of it is needed to keep our bodies functioning properly. But first, we need to differentiate between two types of cholesterol, HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) which needs to remain high and LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) which needs to remain as low as possible.

Another thing we need to consider is fat, especially the triglycerides type of fat which raises LDL cholesterol. What’s worse is the dangerous combination of high LDL, triglycerides, and low HDL, that can put your health at stake. Not only triglycerides but also trans and saturated fats consumption leads to high cholesterol.

So when people are talking about high cholesterol, they are actually referring to LDL cholesterol, which in excess can lead to plaque build-up in the arteries and cause blockage, making blood circulation difficult, which in turn makes it hard for your body to get enough oxygen and nutrients that are necessary for proper function.

This could easily lead to serious heart problems and many other diseases. In the worst scenario, the arteries can get fully clogged, leading to a heart attack and possibly death.

To cut long story short, there is a solid link between heart diseases and high LDL. In addition to the scary statistics revealing that more than 1 million people experience heart attacks annually and nearly half a million die because of a heart disease. Luckily, there are several ways you can prevent this.
