4. Storing Food in Plastic Containers
Many plastic containers consist of artificial chemical substances, such as bisphenol and phthalate, which help to keep them flexible. If you store food for a long time in plastic boxes, these substances could leak into your goodies. And consuming such chemicals can have a negative impact on your endocrine system.
A healthier alternative is to place your food in containers made from stainless steel, glass, or ceramic material. Moreover, remember to check out the little symbols that provide information on how to use the container, for example, if it can be reheated in the microwave, be frozen, or what’s the top heating temperature it can be exposed to.
5. Brushing Your Teeth Right after Eating
Dentists always recommend that you should brush your teeth at least 30 minutes after a meal, or even one hour, if possible. Foods and drinks, particularly the ones that have high acidic contents, can negatively affect the enamel of the tooth and dentin, the layer below it.
So when you brush your teeth, your toothbrush’s movements push the acid closer and deeper to the dentin, which can lead to extreme sensitivity and damage your enamel.
6. Using Antibacterial Soap often
There are numerous useful bacteria that live on the surface of your skin and that help in protecting your body against dangerous germs. If you frequently use antibacterial soap, you’ll end up sterilizing your hands. This can create chances for harmful bacteria to easily enter your body.
Dermatologists suggest using antibacterial soap for grazes, scratches, and cuts, and warn against using it more than twice a week.
