Technically, Fructose is sugar, but any food that is high in this particular type of sugar is going to affect the brain negatively, not like the regular table sugar.
There is a research that was published in Journal of Physiology that explained what happened to rats that were exposed to different diets of sugar. The ones that were high in Fructose were placed in a maze that they had already mastered, but somehow they had problems figuring it out.
According to researchers, the fructose could affect the way our brain cells use and store the sugar for the energy that is required to process thoughts and what we learn. The only fructose that is healthy is the one we can find in fruits.
Partially Hydrogenated Oils
Okay here is the truth, there is no reason to consume foods that are listed in partially hydrogenated oils because they increase the risk of suffering from obesity and damaging your heart health, which leads to a serious brain issue like the
Meanwhile, another study found that people who eat high levels of these oils had smaller brains and low cognitive abilities later in their lives. These oils are included in baked goods, fried and processed foods.
Processed Foods
Speaking of the processed foods, these ones are not really high in sugar or fat, but they are high in sodium. According to the National Health and Nutrition Examinations Surveys, the top 10 foods that lead to Americans’ high sodium intake are mostly the processed foods.
Another research found out that foods that are high in sodium are basically brain fog. Plus, it is strongly linked to our blood pressure and heart health. In conclusion, these foods are not healthy at all, and it is best to avoid them once and for all.
Fast Food
We don’t need to introduce this one because we all know how unhealthy and dangerous fast food could be. It is literally the house that holds all the bad ingredients for the brain in high doses:
