Actually, after being hit on the head during a mugging, the 31-year-old man was left a physics and maths genius overnight. In 2002, Jason Padgett, a self-confessed heavy partier, was cruelly attacked outside a bar, causing him serious trauma. Although it was a horrible and painful experience, it wasn’t all bad news for Jason.

When he recovered, he discovered a new and strange ability to visualize complex physics concepts and mathematical objects with unbelievable ease. ‘I see angles and shapes everywhere in real life,’ he said. After he started putting these visions of geometric shapes onto paper, he was encouraged by a physicist to enroll math studies.
