#4 – Detoxing to Help Treat a Medical Condition!
Myth has it that diabetics can use detoxing to regulate their sugar levels. This is not only false but also very risky because mixing liquids-only with sugar-free will result in dangerously low blood sugar levels, putting the diabetic’s life at stake.
Moreover, there are absolutely no studies supporting any benefits of a fasting detox on decreasing blood pressure or cholesterol. Well, you can improve these health problems by removing specific foods from your diet, but certainly not by eliminating food altogether!
Just tell me how can you fast for a week or more without passing out, or worse…!
#5 – Detoxing Can Cost You a Pretty Penny
To go through a detox treatment, you don’t only have to purchase whatever detox product is being marketed, but also certain supplements or mixing ingredients (for example pills and extravagant juices) to get the “maximum” benefits and efficacy.
The cost can be equal to that of a regular complete grocery list of fruits, veggies, and meats, the only difference is that you’ll be paying money to feel hungry and weak instead of healthy and strong.
#6 – Detox Treatment VS Your Skin
Among all the factors that can affect the natural beauty of your precious skin, genes are the first and biggest culprit. According to science, the widely-hated acne is genetic and there’s no way around that.
However, let’s not be hopeless, you can actually do something about it to reduce the intensity of your breakouts. Just simply changes in your daily routine can do the trick, such as never touch your face, avoid stress, drink enough water, and cut off greasy and fast food.
#7 – What should you do then?
Don’t think that a couple of detox days wouldn’t hurt because, generally, the human body goes into “starvation mode” from 24 to 72 hours of fasting, depending on the person’s caloric intake. This means that when you detox your body, the latter thinks that you’re actually starving (which is not totally wrong) and will respond by decreasing the amount of burned calories.
