#5 – Carrying bags from the supermarket
Regardless of the fact that supermarkets make millions of dollars every year out of selling disposable bags, you should always take an extra bag. Those additional cents can actually save your spine from the harmful pressure.
To protect your spine health, remember to never lift any heavy object (over 5 kg for men and over 2 kg for women) without slightly bending your knees first. Also, make sure distribute the bags’ weight evenly in both hands while carrying them.

#4 – Washing the floor

While some of us clean up the house every day, most of us do it at least once a week, and of course, we all know very well how much pain it causes our spines, from weight lifting to strained legs and back.
To maintain a healthy spine and avoid the pain, never wash the floor with your hands, instead, use a brush or mop.
#3 – Lacing up your shoes
Anything you do while bending your body is harmful to your intervertebral discs due to the pressure. So you need to pay close attention to every sensation in your back throughout the day and avoid bent postures.
To protect your spine, never lace up your shoes while you’re standing and bending over or crouched on the floor. You should sit and pull your leg up instead.

#2 – Carrying a backpack

Backpacks are a great way to carry plenty of things in a little space, but the heavy weight and wrong way of carrying can easily damage your spine. To avoid hurting your spine, make sure to carry your backpack using both of the straps to evenly distribute the load on your shoulders.
Also, opt for backpacks that have soft and wide straps as they don’t put too much pressure on your spine and neck, as well as they offer better shock absorption.
