You should know that a heavy metal is any metal with a high density at the molecular level. Some of the most popular heavy metals are lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury.

Once your body absorbs these toxins, they start accumulating inside, which often causes these toxicity symptoms.

#1 – Nausea


Nausea

Nausea is a common sign of severe heavy metals poisoning. In case you were exposed to a high concentration of a heavy metal at once, your symptoms could include nausea. There are different potential causes for this type of poisoning, for example, it could be due to chemical and heavy metal spills or mishandled metals at a job site.

There is also chronic exposure which happens over a certain period of time and includes having mercury amalgams, known as silver fillings in your teeth, Eating foods like contaminated fish that contain high amounts of heavy metals, living in a house that has lead-based paint and was built before 1978, smoking or/and inhaling second-hand smoke, working in an environment with prevalent exposure such as at a dentist’s office, or living near a landfill.

Vomiting is another common and probably the most obvious sign of severe heavy metal poisoning. Once you’re exposed to a large portion of these toxins, your body will immediately react by desperately trying to eliminate them through vomiting. Since many metals tend to gather in dust and dirt, try to keep these two out of your house as much as you can. Also, if you work around heavy metals, make sure to wear protective clothing and masks.

#3 – Headaches


Headaches

Headaches that are related to heavy metals’ exposure often occur after a long-term or chronic absorption of these toxins. The heavy metals build up in your body can cause chronic and very painful headaches of which many people ignore the real cause.
