Pregnancy may be the toughest stage of any woman’s life, but it can also be the most beautiful one. We all know that it creates different emotions from exhilaration and empowerment to worry and confusion. But often, women don’t know the things they should or shouldn’t eat during pregnancy, especially if it’s the first time.
A common trap is when they start listening to advice from family and friends, saying things like ‘eat for two’. The old saying is completely inaccurate and will only make you gain unhealthy weight as well as develop gestational diabetes and high blood pressure. So it’s essential for a would-be mom to eat smart and not a lot.
Typically, pregnant women are supposed to eat only about 300 calories more a day which is the equivalent of a Greek yogurt and a whole grain English muffin.

#1 – Eggs
Eggs are full of 12 vitamins, minerals, and high-quality protein. These are crucial for the development of the fetus. Eggs are also high in choline, which helps cell growth and fetal brain development, as well as it protects from neural tube defects. If you’re still in doubt whether to eat eggs while pregnant, we assure you, it’s perfectly healthy.

Interestingly, the latter helps protect the baby from any potential birth defects, like fetal alcohol syndrome.
