Hot water bottles are made from polycarbonate plastic that contains BPA or bisphenol A, a toxic chemical linked to prostate and breast cancer, disruptions to the endocrine system, and brain damage.

Some companies stopped the sale of the bottles with BPA while they still guarantee its safety.

Baby bottles have also been found to include BPA.

Germany, Canada, and France have already banned the chemical from being used in any of their bottles while the EU should soon follow suit.

PFCs or perfluorinated compounds belong to the family of fluorine chemicals which help items stick resistant.

PFCs are extremely difficult to break down and can be found in almost everything, with the world’s highest levels in the US.

These toxic chemicals are used in multiples personal and cleaning products like shampoo and dental floss.

They’ve been linked to liver and kidney damage and are particularly toxic to fetuses and newborn babies.

6. Watching TV

Well, watching TV had never been regarded as a healthy activity.

According to the University of Queensland, you lose 22 minutes of your life for every hour you spend watching TV. The study included Australians aged over 25 who watched TV for over 9.8 billion hours, meaning they’ve lost around 286,000 years of their lives combined.

In other words, watching TV for 6 hours a day puts you at risk of dying 5 years earlier. This is nearly equal to smoking 2 cigarettes for every hour of watching TV.

5. Breathing Indoors

The air inside your home may be much worse than car exhaust, industrial smoke, and all that polluted air outside.

Basically, indoor pollution comes from VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which are used in many things like paint, plants, and cleaning products.
New buildings are considered the most polluted since they contain too many new materials inside.

VOCs have many terrible health effects including kidneys, liver, and nervous system damages, as well as dizziness and nose and eyes irritation. Not to mention being linked to cancer.
