The lettuce has calming effects. It helps calm the nerves, to control palpitations and better sleep at night to avoid insomnia. Eat a good lettuce salad with olive oil before bedtime. These soothing properties will increase if we do a cooking with 50% lettuce leaves and had a couple of glasses a day, one in the morning and another before going to sleep.

The component that is responsible for this property is the lactucarium, one of the main components of lettuce juice. This component is a liquid that looks white when broken lettuce leaves. This has relaxing properties and to induce sleep similar to opium, but without the severe side effects. Just eat some leaves or drink some lettuce juice.
