The Top 10 Moisturizer Mistakes You Should Stop Making

#6 – Applying Foundation Soon After Using a Moisturizer

Another big mistake you are making is immediately applying your foundation after moisturizing your face without giving enough time for the moisturizer to soak into the skin. This could only result in a mess.

The creamy texture of the moisturizer can make your makeup look thin and uneven. That’s in addition to the patchy and blotchy look you end up with. Surely, you hate that!

So it is important to apply your moisturizer and give it enough time to dry. Let’s say about 10 to 15 minutes and only after you can wear your foundation and apply the rest of makeup.

#7 – Using the Same Product for Ages

Using the same skin care products for years is just another big mistake. If your intention is to stay loyal to one brand, then you’d better stop thinking this way because it is not benefiting your skin.

What you should understand is that when you grow older, your body can change the effectiveness of the moisturizer you have been using for years. This happens because of the fact that your skin has needs and those needs change with time. And to meet those changes, you should very simply change your moisturizer. Why complicate life!

For a better choice, I recommend paying a visit to your dermatologist and ask about the most suitable moisturizer for you according to your skin type and age. Of course, no need to mention that you should always check the expiration date of any product before use.

#8 – Using Too Much Moisturizer

You don’t need to apply a very thick layer of moisturizer to hydrate your skin well. Only a generous small amount will do. But if it’s not working and you feel the need to apply thicker amounts, then you’d better toss that moisturizer away.

Be sure that you are definitely not using the right one. Moreover, applying too much moisturizer or any other product will only do more harm than good to your skin. This means the fewer products you are using on your skin, the better your skin will be.
