#1 – You Use Scented Products

You Use Scented Products

Artificially scented and fragrant products, including gels, wipes, soaps, powders, and other products are loaded with chemicals that can cause a large and deep awful irritation down there. So, you should stop being so quick at reaching to one of those products as soon as you smell a little odor when you’re on your period.

No one likes bad odors, but you should know that it’s just your vagina’s way of keeping itself clean. Don’t interfere with this natural process. Also, when bathing, cleanse your internal parts using only water. You can wash outer areas with a natural soap that has no ‘fragrant’ or ‘perfume’ on the label.

#2 – You Don’t Change Your Tampons

You Don't Change Your Tampons or Pads Enough

You should change your pad or tampon every few hours to prevent leakages. It’s better to heck pads every 2 to 4 hours, depending on how heavy is your flow. If you use the lowest-absorbency tampon, make sure to switch your tampon every 4 to 8 hours at least.
