#7 – AIDS
There could be a case when you have a condition that you think it requires laser eye care, but when you visit the laser eye center, you’ll be diagnosed with something else when your retina gets examined. HIV/AIDS could be one of the conditions that your ophthalmologist spots.
AIDS can lead to potential blinding inflammation in your eyes – in the retina to be more specific. That’s one of the reasons you need to have eye care insurance all the time.
#8 – Horner’s Syndrome
When you notice a combination of aneisocoria – pupils that vary in size- and ptosis – droopy eyelids-, this could be an indication you are having Horner’s syndrome. It doesn’t matter how much the eye test costs, you need to check with your doctor as soon as possible.
This syndrome is sometimes linked to having tumors in the neck and aneurysms. So don’t ignore these signs so that they won’t evolve to something else more serious than this.

#9 – High Blood Pressure
Whether you are running an expensive or affordable eye exam, there are many reasons that make the dollars you spend on this worth it. That’s because an eye exam can spot all kinds of diseases including high blood pressure.
When you have HBP, the blood vessels in your retina tend to twist and kink. You may also have “dents” in your retinal veins –which are known as A-V nicking. In this case, your doctor may recommend paying a visit to a specialist in high blood pressure diseases.
#10 – Marfan’s Syndrome
This is a genetic disorder that has a bad effect on the body’s connective tissue. One of the most common symptoms of the disease is having slender fingers, and extreme height and thinness.
However, Marfan’s Syndrome could also be diagnosed by observing the ‘sunrise syndrome’ by eye doctors.
This is associated with having changes in the tissue that holds the eye’s crystalline lens in their place. It is really important to be able to diagnose the disease as soon as possible since it may lead to having problems with the wall of the aorta.
