How to Tell if Your Hair is Healthy and How to Care for it

Last Updated on December 27, 2020

3. The tug test

Another way to determine if your hair is healthy or not is by analyzing its elasticity. Once again, pull out a strand of your hair, and gently pull it on both ends. If when you do this your hair breaks, then it clearly isn’t healthy. But if it bounces back and stretches, you have nothing to worry about.  To increase the elasticity of your hair you can apply honey or jojoba oil to it. Both can help keep your hair moisturized since they work as natural hair conditioners.

4. The porosity test

You can use this test to find out if your hair cuticle is damaged or not. All you need to do is lock a strand of hair between your middle fingers and your index, and slide it through, from the root to the top. Damaged hair will feel sort of uneven, while a healthy strand will feel smooth to the touch. You can solve this type of frizz with a ketamine treatment that will leave your hair healthy and shiny. Avoid painting your hair, curling it, or blow-drying it. A rice water rinse can be an alternative, as research shows it can protect your hair from further damage.  Do you feel like you take proper care of your hair, or don’t you pay enough attention to it?
