Heart disease is responsible for millions of deaths in the world on an annual basis. And this is truly heartbreaking. Moreover, this disease is the leading cause of death among women, as stated by the Center for Disease Control.
The reason is probably that people, especially women, tend to ignore the symptoms and don’t seek medical attention soon enough.
#1 – Shortness of Breath
One of the most common signs of heart disease is shortness of breath. Normally, most people experience shortness of breath after an intense workout or climbing the stairs. However, going out of breath while relaxing on a sofa, for example, is a very bad sign that shouldn’t be ignored.
If this happens, it means that the heart is unable to pump blood out effectively, causing the lungs to congest due to leaking fluid, and this leads to difficulty with breathing.
#2 – Dizziness
People who suffer from heart problems tend to experience dizziness quite often. This confusing feeling of the world turning around you usually strikes when you suddenly sit up or stand up. This can happen due to the irregular heart rhythm, abnormal heart functions, or a narrowing of valves. Dizziness can also signal a drop in blood pressure.
#3 – Chest Pain and Discomfort
Discomfort or pain in the chest is definitely not something that you can neglect, no matter how mild it is. The tricky part is that chest pain and discomfort can have several causes, and while some of them are not serious, others are life-threatening. This means you absolutely need to have a cardiologist examine you to get proper diagnosis and treatment.
#4 – Sweating
