#3 – Makeup

The best lighting for makeup in the house is located in the bathroom, we admit it. But you should not leave them there, including the brushes. The humidity, steam, and high temperature encourage mold growth and make the makeup products expire fast.

Plus, your makeup brushes will be picking germs up that you will later put on your face… gross!

#4 – Toothbrush

Yes, it seems like it is impossible to put it somewhere else, but whenever you keep it in your bathroom, you increase its risk of growing bacteria all over it. Flushing the toilet with the seat up causes all the bacteria and germs from your “waste” to spray around all over the bathroom, and some of them land on your toothbrush.

So if you don’t want any of those things to end up inside your mouth, put down the toilet seat before you flush, and keep your toothbrush in a dry space in your bedroom, like your dresser.

#5 – Paintings

We spend a lot of time in our bathroom, so why not decorate it, right?

Well, our paintings and all of our 18th and 19th centuries’ antique wooden objects will not be in a safe place there due to the humidity that will crack the paint, shrink and expand the wood.

The only way you can put up decorations in your bathroom is when it is too large that even mirrors don’t get fogged up when you shower.

The steamy bathrooms can really damage the photographs and your limited-edition prints. The humidity will be trapped between the glass and the picture, causing the mold to grow.

The picture will end up with brown spots and the paper will start cockle, ruining the whole frame. Not to mention the water droplets dripping because of humidity that will cause water stains and damages.
