Normally, the human body produces certain chemicals to remind us that we need to procreate, go to the bathroom, sleep, and eat. But soda blocks one of them, the need to sleep!
Soda contains caffeine, which is a popular stimulant that you may like since it keeps you awake during critical events (exams, meetings, etc) but you fail to consider that the coke you gulped can keep you up at night as well.
The National Sleep Foundation warns that even moderate caffeine consumption can result in sleep disturbances and insomnia.
