Things You Believe About Your Body That Are Actually Myths

Last Updated on January 7, 2021

While poor hygiene is certainly a breeder of bad odors, it isn’t the only reason. Unpleasant body odors can arise from infections, genetic disorders or the foods you consume like Asparagus, garlic, broccoli, and alcohol. The bad odor can linger even after a thorough shower.

It is in our nature to react negatively to a bad smell, but sometimes we don’t know people’s circumstances so let’s be kind!

Consuming excess supplements and vitamins is not all that good for your body. Actually, they can cause you harm, especially if they are not prescribed by your doctor. Taking medicine randomly is not a very smart move so it’s better to check with your doctor first before letting this myth rule your health.

According to a recent Gallup poll, 50 percent of Americans say that they take vitamins regularly. Some people even assume that multivitamins prevent cancer, reduce heart diseases, and preserve memory. Wrong.

No, you don’t. You know whether your baby is a girl or a boy through ultrasound. Saying that this misconception is widespread is an understatement as many people believe that if a pregnant woman has a high, ball-shaped bump, it’s a boy, whereas if the bump is low and larger, it’s a girl.

According to gynecologists, the shape of the mother’s bump has nothing to do with the fact that her baby is either a boy or a girl. Or better yet, twins!

You may ask, was my life a lie? But do not fret, many of us have been victims of many misconceptions. Sometimes, we joke about something and the next thing we know, it becomes a widespread “fact!”

But isn’t it so refreshing to clear up misconceptions when the opportunity allows it?
