Sorry to disappoint you, but the germs have already settled down! So go ahead and pick up the food you dropped off the ground but just don’t eat it.

Germs are everywhere and so are myths. This one myth is especially funny because many of us have been doing it ever since we were kids. Even our parents and teachers told us that it was alright to eat our dropped candy or sandwich as long as we pick it up within five seconds.

Well, recent scientific studies have proved that your food picks up the same amount of bacteria on the ground the moment it falls on it. It’s sad, but sometimes you know it’s time to give up on a chip or cookie!

#4 – Drinking 8 glasses of water every day

Keeping our bodies hydrated is a must but does it have to be eight glasses of water a day or is there more to this claim than paying regular visits to the bathroom?

According to an investigative study shown in the American Journal of Physiology-Regulatory, Integrative, and Comparative Physiology, drinking eight glasses of water a day is an excessive amount that is only necessary when an individual lives in an extreme climate or suffers from specific health problems that require him/her to drink more than average amounts of water.

While drinking too much water on a daily basis does not add more benefits to the body, it can cause water intoxication that results in seizures.
