We all know that fish is an extremely healthy food due to its low-fat high quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and important vitamins and minerals. The majority of medical health pages recommend eating fish at least two times per week as part of a healthy diet.
However, not all fish is good fish. There are certain types of fish that will do you more harm than good. These risky fish should only be eaten rarely or not at all to avoid being poisoned, worsening the health of your cardiovascular and digestive system, and other several health problems.

1. Imported Catfish
Catfish can grow to a relatively large size. Unfortunately, many fish farmers feed them hormones to accelerate their growth, particularly the imported fish that comes from Asian countries. This puts the health of all consumers in danger, leading to countless new health problems.
When buying this kind of seafood, you should opt for free-grown catfish, as they have greater nutritional value and are much less dangerous. Otherwise, just avoid it altogether.
2. Mackerel
Mackerel consists of mercury, which builds up in the human body as it’s hard to get rid of, leading to a wide variety of diseases. If you like eating this kind of fish, then you should buy the Atlantic mackerel as it’s the least dangerous concerning this matter, also, you can safely eat as much as you want of it.
The recommended monthly intake of mackerel is 200 g for adults and 100 g for children. To ensure good health and nutrition, always ask where the fish is coming from and avoid buying it if doesn’t look fresh.
3. Tuna
Tuna consists of plenty of mercury as well, particularly bluefin and blackfin tuna. Moreover, there are currently only little amounts of free-grown tuna in the American stores because it’s almost extinct.
