7 Products You Need to Avoid in Supermarkets

Last Updated on January 7, 2021

As a much better alternative, you can easily add some chopped fresh fruits into your morning meal and avoid all of those good for nothing additives.

4- Bottled Green Tea

According to a recent study, any bottled beverage that’s saying to be green tea has actually nothing to do with green tea!

Green tea is well-known for its antioxidant characteristics. For instance, one cup of real tea consists of as many antioxidants as twenty bottles of the fake drink.

Bottled green tea basically contains just water and sugar, which is in a greater amount here than it is in soda.

The best thing you can do is to make homemade tea and take it with you. At least you know it’s real!

5- Mayonnaise

Normally, mayonnaise includes eggs, vegetable oil, vinegar, and some spices. While the thing you get from your nearby supermarkets and stores comes with stabilizers, preservatives, and food colorings.

As for “light” mayo, it only consists of less fat, 50% reduced to 35%, in addition to some extra sugar and starch to preserve its thickness and taste. The calories content is also no better, it’s almost the same as in regular mayonnaise.

This white sauce is everything but healthy. If you’re a mayo lover, you can always prepare a delicious homemade one.

6- Ground Spices

The bad thing about the supermarket’s ground spices is that they can be easily mixed with cheaper additives. For example, safflower is often sold instead of saffron, and cassia instead of cinnamon.

It’s always better to buy whole spices and grind them at home to keep their original intense tastes, as they’re obviously healthier without sodium glutamate and a taste intensifier.

7- Bread

Supermarket bread is made from chemically bleached flour, for example, with benzoyl peroxide, the same substance used to make explosives. This type of flour can stay safe from insects as well as last longer, however, it’s good for nothing.
