According to a study on a group of overweight women by Journal of Natural Science, Biology, and Medicine, the women were given large amounts of warm water and the result was that they had experienced a significant decrease in weight, appetite, and body mass index.
Why is Drinking Cold Water Harmful for Your Health?
Although it feels good to drink cold water on a hot day, it also has many negative effects on your body.
Drinking cold water can cause the following things:
- Constricts your blood vessels, which decreases hydration.
- Makes your body work hard to digest food because cold fluids make the fats solid in your bloodstream.
- Makes your body produce more energy in order to heat up.
- It forms extra mucus in your respiratory system, causing congestion and putting you at higher risk of infections, such as throat infection.
